Abstract :
So far, the markets of a tourist destination are determined mainly by questionnaire survey. Based on our previous work, a hyperlink-based GIS model called the ldquobulbrdquo model is proposed to extract the international potential markets of a tourist destination from inlinks to its Web sites. In this paper, the principle and implementation of the ldquobulbrdquo model are introduced in detail. In addition, a case study using the ldquobulbrdquo model to extract the international potential markets of the Imperial Palace from hyperlinks linking to its Web site is provided to show how the ldquobulbrdquo model may be applied.
