Abstract :
The work questions whether the static disspative performance of cleanroom garments can be effectively defined by standard tests on the fabric & reference is made to several industrial siturations where the use of standard testing of the textile material does not relate to end-use performance. Data is presented to show that there is little or no correlation between tests or test methods & that test results on the fabric can be inappropriate or misleading in relation to end-use performance. It is suggested that the performance of cleanroom garments can be defined only by realistic end-use testing.
