Abstract :
The basic processes of conduction in liquids are reviewed, attention being drawn to the similarities between conductive electrolytic polar liquids and insulating nonpolar ones. The role of the reorganization energy in determining electronic states is emphasized. Electrode conditions and particularly the electrode double-layers are considered in detail and shown to control conduction in most cases, as well as being responsible for electrohydrodynamic effects
