Abstract
Parameter vibration of horizontal cable with axial excitation at end on deck has been investigated. The change laws of cable displacement response and tension have been discussed. Based on cables in practical engineering, partial differential equation of horizontal cable parameter vibration has been mathematically solved. Frequency sweep and parameters have been analyzed. The occurrence condition of parameter vibration has been verified. By parameter analysis, the effect laws of excitation amplitude and damping ratio on cable displacement and force during parameter vibration have been obtained. The investigation results indicate that once parameter vibration occurred, amplitude and transient force of cable will greatly increased. It is very important to control the vibration and reduce amplitude of cable. And transient cable force can not be ignored.
