Abstract :
This drought, especially for city seriously affects the social and economic development of city. Drought is characterized by their high frequency, broad range and great loss. Nanchong city is one of the major cities with drought in Hilly Area of Central Sichuan Basin. This study presents a model of risk assessment of urban drought which integrates hazard, exposure, vulnerability and emergency response and recovery capability in Nanchong city, by using the technology of natural disaster risk assessment, weighted comprehensive analysis and analytic hierarchy process and. On the basis of research on the intension and the cause of the drought risk, this study sets up the mathematical model for the drought risk assessment and then use this model to calculate the intensity of drought risk of Nanchong city in Hilly Area of Central Sichuan Basin from different perspective. The risk map of urban drought is drawn based on GIS. This study can be expected to provide solid theories and technological supports for taking comprehensive and active measurements to fight drought in Nanchong city.
