  • Abstract
A malathion (MLT) degrading strain L19 was isolated from the soil that had been sprayed with MLT for a long time, and strain L19 could grow up with MLT as the sole carbon source. Strain L19 could degrade 87.32% of MLT in medium with 20 mg·L-1 MLT after 48h with conditions of 30°C and pH 6.5, and the MLT decomposed was positively correlated with degradation time. Morphological characteristics and 16SrDNA sequence analysis indicated the homology between strain L19 and strain AB021415 (Brevundimonas diminuta) was 98%. Therefore strain L19 was preliminarily identified as Brevundimonas diminuta.
