Abstract :
The charging, reversal, and discharging currents in the silicone oils AK 10, AK 50, AK 100, AS 100, and AP 100 upon application of a stepped DC voltage have been measured over various ranges of field strength (0,05-5 kV/cm), time, and temperature (20-65°C). The behavior of charging, reversal, and discharging currents depends on the time period of the applied voltage and the temperature, and can be explained by effect of injection and bulk processes. The appreciable decrease of the time interval of peak reversal current with increasing voltage may be related to an EHD (electrohydrodynamic) phenomenon
