  • Abstract
In this paper, we focus all attention on finding a solution to the problem how to reduce the difficulty of TS fuzzy system controller design. In other words, our goal is to obtain fewer inequalities in LMIs which is one of the most important tools for fuzzy system controller design. By constructing an augment system, the problem of controller design is turned into stability problem of a fuzzy descriptor system. Then, a set of LMIs which number is smaller than that needed in other methods is given for TS fuzzy system controller design. The complexity of controller design is decreased and the feasibility is increased. Further, based on the result of controller design, observer design is discussed and the fewer LMIs for observer design is given. Finally, a simulation example is presented to illustrate the proposed result.
