Abstract
A parallel algorithm for updating the linear and quadratic coefficients of a second-order Volterra (SVF) filter is proposed. The parallel algorithm is implemented on both two- and three-node Inmos T-800 transputer arrays. The effective processing bandwidth of the parallel filter implementation is compared to that of the traditional serial approach to demonstrate the potential real-time adaptive filtering applications of the Volterra filter. Simulation results for both the parallel and serial implementations of the SVF filter are provided to demonstrate the significant performance increase realized by the parallel implementation over the serial implementation
