Abstract :
In Release 11 of the LTE-Advanced specification, 8×8 transmission mode is raised to support higher transmission rate. But due to different channel conditions, spatial gain will not always increase with the increasement of antennas. How to make full use of spatial resources is a problem in LTE related areas. In this paper, an adaptive substream selection method is given which is used in 8×8 MIMO scenarios of 3GPP LTE-Advanced systems. Based on feedbacks of channel information (e.g. SRS in TDD system or Channel Estimation in FDD system), we can effectively predict the optimal stream mapping method at given timeslot. A system level simulation result is given to prove the effectiveness of our method under our Matlab-Based LTE-Advanced System Level Simulation platform.
