Abstract :
This paper represents a successful application of Advanced Process Control (APC) with predictive functional control and fuzzy compensation of the temperature difference of rectifying sections in an aromatics distillation column. The application of APC improves disturbance rejection and operation of the columns and increases the recovery of aromatics while reducing energy consumption.
