Abstract :
A shampoo product delivered a massive static shock, typically when the bottle was opened by a wet person standing in the shower. The investigation discovered that the filled shampoo bottle was behaving like a self-powered "Leyden Jar." This paper attempts to describe the physics and solutions to a severe consumer relations problem.
