Abstract
Results of fractal simulation of discharge structures in liquid dielectrics are presented. The model is based on the solution of the Laplace equation and takes into account finite conduction. In the discharge channels, gap geometry, critical field stress, and generalized dielectric properties. The simulation results are in good agreement with shlieren pictures of the discharge in deionized water. The bush-to-dendrite transition in the discharge structure has been obtained. It is concluded that discharge propagation models based on a fractal approach make it possible to simulate the transformation and decay of the discharge structure as well as to study the spatial temporal characteristics of the discharge propagation
