Abstract
Health care centers are subject to nosocomial infections which constitute a potential danger to patients´ lives, namely in intensive care. Therefore, the sterilization of surgical instruments should be seriously considered as it plays a major role in the quality of the care provided to patients. For a proper sanitation to take place, it is essential to implement a quality system based on reference standards relative to the norms and requirements of quality, requiring human, material and financial resources. It is in this context that our paper contributes to highlight the stakes and constraints of the sterilization unit in Hassan II Hospital by reviewing and providing a modest field analysis of the situation there.
