Abstract :
In recent years, much effort has been devoted to the study of new antennas for millimeter-wave applications. In this paper we present the theoretical analysis of a novel linear phased array composed of line sources which are asymmetric ridge waveguides with a continuously slitted top wall. The analysis performed is based on a transverse equivalent network that takes into account the thickness of all the metal walls as well as all mutual coupling effects between adjacent radiators. A detailed parametric analysis is also carried out indicating how this phased array is indeed a very promising candidate for millimeter-wave antenna applications.
