Abstract :
This paper proposes a novel method to combine an embedded zerotree wavelet (EZW) coder with an object based genetic algorithm motion vector generator. This type of approach is able to handle the translation, rotation, scaling, and overlapping due to movement of video objects within a specific search field unlike the more conventional block based motion estimation schemes. It is also capable of transmitting a single bitstream of video objects and corrective frames which can be decoded at different bit rates due to the EZW based algorithm. The combination of these properties creates a powerful approach to video sequence coding for multiple decoding environments. Effectiveness of the proposed method is shown by simulations using synthetic objects
