Abstract
One of the objectives of the paper is to make microwave engineers aware of the phenomenon of chaos and how it can occur in non-linear microwave circuits and systems. The paper explains the basic principles of chaotic behaviour and how to design non-chaotic circuits. Several case studies are presented. This includes diode detector circuits, IMPATT and Gunn oscillators and frequency multipliers.
