Abstract :
In china, many problems currently have become more serious-traffic congestion, energy depletion, air and noise pollution, and so on. The reason of the phenomenon is traced to one-sided pursuit of traffic mobility and neglect of the city´s accessibility in recent decades. This paper calls for a paradigmatic shift in urban and transport planning, one focused on enhancing accessibility. And it simultaneously points out that accessibility is an important factor in measure of the quality of TOD built environment, and also a key factor for achieving increased ridership.
