Abstract
Beidagang wetland is an important infrastructure of Tianjin, possessing a variety of ecological environment and social service functions. However, Beidagang wetland ecosystem has been seriously degraded and its wetland functions have also been weakened under the influence of various factors. Research on the dynamic change characteristics of Beidagang wetland is of great significance to ameliorate the quality of the wetland ecological environment and improve the ecosystem health in Tianjin. In this paper, the information of water, vegetation and land use of Beidagang Wetland from 2000 to 2008 was extracted with the support of 3S technology (Remote Sensing RS, Geographical Information System GIS, Global Positioning System GPS). Based on the analysis and summarization of the dynamic change characteristics, countermeasures for wetland protection and sustainable development were put forward. The results showed that the water resource, vegetation resource and land use had undergone great changes from 2000 to 2008. Accordingly, it pointed out that to establish wetland water security mechanisms as soon as possible and to achieve virtuous cycle were the effective ways to improve the ecological environment of Beidagang Wetland.
