Abstract :
Chlorophyll-a (Chl-a) concentration is an important indicator for detecting lake waters. In this paper we used the polarized reflection and multi-angle information to calculate the degree of polarization (DOP), then used the DOP to inverse the chl-a concentration in lake waters. We explored the modeling relationship between measured concentrations of Chl-a and the DOP. The F tests confirmed that variation of chl-a concentration had a significant effect on DOP. This study enlightens that multi-angle polarized reflection has a potential application in remote sensing for analyzing Chl-a concentration in water.
