Abstract :
Taking Jiangxia District in Wuhan City as the research region by using RS and GIS comprehensively. According to the country secondary category and classification standard interpretation. Reveal the characteristics of the fractal structures of the distribution of land use types. Explore the significance of the fractal on land use types. The fractal dimensions (D) and stability indexes (S) of first and second land use types of Jiangxia District are calculated. This paper made a statistical of fractal analysis for the distribution of land use type. Some feasible policies are put forward based on fractal dimensions, stability indexes and human factors of different land use types. The result indicate that the urban construction land ardmeadow deviate from largely random value (1.500) and at relatively stable state, closer to the regular body; And the fractal dimensions of the unused land are the largest and its stability indexes are lower, for it is hardly affected by human activities; the fractal dimensions of the agricultural land are relatively stable and the land use pattern can be changed easily. On the other hand, the fractal dimensions of land use for traffic and dry land deviate from random value too little extent, which shows that the two land use types affected by this regional physical geography condition are relatively complicated and unstable. Fractal dimensions and stability indexes of land use types reflect land use structure of the research region; it has found a new quantitative reference index to evaluate the scientific rationality of land use. This conclusion provides new indexes or reference for Jiangxia´s general land plan. Not only the character of land use type´s fractal structure is found, but also fractal dimension´s significance is discussed. At last, combine with the conclusions and under the actual socioeconomic status, give some useful suggestion for the region´s future land use planning.
