Abstract
A range of miniaturized broadband detectors has recently been developed employing monolithic integrated microwave alumina circuits (MiMAC) technology. Germanium tunnel diodes; silicon sChottky detectors and gallium arsenide (GaAs) planar doped barrier (PDB) diodes have been configured in these circuits with broadband distributed matching networks, employing both reactive and resistive DC returns. This paper reviews their relative performance in particular when aimed at ESM applications.
