Abstract :
Global warning has attracted attention from all over the world. Developing green energy and reducing emission of greenhouse gas play an important role in repose to climate change of governments. Wind energy is clean energy and has experienced a quickly increase in China. Xinjiang is rich in wind energy has reasonable conditions for wind energy development. The temporal and spatial variation of wind speed was analyzed in this study using data of 53 meteorological stations of Xinjiang. The results showed that wind speed of Northern Xinjiang was larger than that of Southern Xijiang. Wind speed of April and May was largest and that of January and December was the lowest. Trend analysis showed that wind speed of most stations had decreased in the recent 40-50 years.
