Abstract :
A web-based system served as real-time rainfall-runoff forecast is developed by adopting Browse Server (B/S) structures and the oriented object program, which is capable of forecasting runoff generation, predicting rainfall, evaporation, calculating subsurface runoff and analyzing water balance. The system has been successfully applied in the hydrology forecast practices of General Station of Hydrology, Bureau of Beijing Water Affairs, the results from the real case application illustrate that it can be operated easily and has the advantages of stability, transplantation and extensibility, which can provide the information on rainfall, runoff and the flood for administrative sectors, all industries and publics, a quick response mechanism can be built with a soundly technical and direct support for decision-makers to perform water resources and rain-flood regulation strategies in Beijing City.
