Abstract :
In this paper, the prototype concept of a virtual collaborative design system for mechanical performance is presented. The characteristics of this system are analyzed in depth and their theoretic frameworks are depicted. Relevant techniques and principle questions are then discussed. Finally, a C-Design system that we have developed based on the Web is described. The structure of the C-Design system is a client/server system. The main function modules and their realized schemes are considered, such as the management module and collaboration module
