  • Abstract
    The network topology discovery is a part of network management and the basic of other network management functions. In the paper, by means of the data nodes defined in the national standards, a SNMP- based network discovery algorithm serving for the EPON+EOC (Ethernet Passive Optical Network + Ethernet over Coaxial cable) access networks is proposed and implemented. The method only needs SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) supported by CLT (Coaxial Line Terminal) and uses MIB (Management Information Base) informations stored in CLT, while other network devices are not requested. And we will find network devices and connectivity relationships.
