Abstract :
Internet and World Wide Web-based technologies have become a popular platform for the development of distance education (DE) programs. Several corporations and education institutions have started offering DE on the Web. There is a need for a set of guidelines to help educators in the planning and delivery of the training programs for next-generation enterprises. This paper begins this process by presenting an e-education framework that describes how the Web can be used to enhance training and education in next-generation enterprises. This framework utilizes the e-commerce frameworks that have been successfully used by many corporations to “Web-enable” their business. An electronic course was developed with the guiding principles of this framework to demonstrate how it can be used to develop and deliver DE on the Web
