Abstract :
Multi-frequency megawatt gyrotrons are of great interest for controlling instabilities in magnetically confined thermonuclear fusion plasmas. A key issue for the design of a multi-frequency gyrotron is the quasi-optical mode converter. It converts the high order cavity mode into a linearly polarized, pencil-like output beam. A very high Gaussian mode content and a small amount of stray radiation is presented here.
