  • Abstract
    The theory and characteristics of the accelerated life test (ALT) and the accelerated degradation test (ADT) is introduced. Based on the discussion about the classification and characteristics of gyroscopes, the accelerated test technology of mechanical gyroscopes and optic gyroscopes is summarized, including test types, stress, accelerated models, failure criterion and some other fundamental test conceptions. The conclusion is that ALTs and ADTs of critical components are valid way to evaluate the overall life of the gyroscopes. In the end, the deficiencies of civil accelerated tests are pointed out and suggestions are given correspondingly. These suggestions can provide somehow support for examining the quality of gyroscopes´ life prediction and health management model.
