Abstract :
In the platform of China Geological Survey Information Grid(CGSIG), variety of spatial data of large storage capacity and different data format and spatial services which are various and powerful are collected and put together, therefore it needs a effective mechanism to store, manage, retrieve and discover these geo-resources. Catalogue Service System based on the platform of CGSIG adopts a means of metadata modeling to establish Catalogue Information Model (CIM) which describes informative productions of geological survey; provides many kinds of catalogue services conforming to OpenGIS Catalogue Services Specification and constitutes Catalogue Service Aggregator (CSA) which is s a unified storage container for catalogue services to realize registration, issuance and discovery of services. The Catalogue Service System built in the heterogeneous distributed grid computing environment gives an effective solution to manage geo-resources metadata, supports aggregation and integration of these resources and meets the needs for distributive storage and integrative discovery of multilevel, multi-source, multi-type spatial information.
