Abstract :
The author describes how a complex subject (allocation management) was documented quickly and accurately at the San Diego Supercomputer Center using a variety of advanced hardware and software tools. Central to this project was a Sun 3/50 Workstation running the Suntools window system. With network links to the other computer systems, concurrent sessions were run within the Suntools window environment, which made it possible to do instant text-file transfer or to paste buffers of text from the various document sources to the master file. Text editors on the Sun and CRAY were used, as well as UNIX writing tools. The online version was produced using the text processing programs on the CRAY. That version was then transferred back to the Sun workstation and typeset with interleaf, a desktop publishing system
