Abstract :
This paper is devoted to investigating the properties of invariance and robustness of variable structure control systems. Some aspects of the result on the invariance is reviewed. It is stressed that the robustness of variable structure control systems is much more practical. Conditions for the robustness are established and an algorithm for designing a deterministic control for the robustness is described
