Abstract :
The maximum user capacity and the spectrum efficiency of the downlink of an indoor wireless DS CDMA system operating in the 2.4 GHz ISM band with system bandwidth 64 MHz is investigated using measured delay profiles. BPSK modulation is considered and the receiver is equipped with selection diversity and matched filter detection. It is shown that the user capacity can be enhanced by using a lower bit rate and a larger code length. Furthermore it is expected that the performance results obtained with measured profiles are less pessimistic than the results obtained using analytical channel models
