Abstract :
In this paper, an overview of the current situation in the area of land mobile radio systems in the countries of Eastern and Central europe is given. First, as an example, the group of more advanced Central European countries consisting of the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Poland is dealt with. Then, the Baltic states of Former Soviet Union (FSU) are characterised. Finally, some comments about the other countries of Eastern and Central Europe are made
