Abstract :
Central pattern generator (CPG) is a neural circuit which governs rhythmic activities of animal. Synthesis of CPG plays an important role in engineering such as locomotion control. Up to now, CPGs are mainly derived based on biological principles, with their parameters heuristically tuned. In this paper, a class of piecewise affine systems capable of exhibiting CPG-like property of stable limit cycles is presented. A proposed synthesis method for CPGs is also included.
