Presents current thinking on various aspects of the work of the IEEE HCEPC (Health Care Engineering Policy Committee). Particular attention is given to selection of personnel for government positions involving health care engineering; selection of appointees for government commissions, committees, and advisory panels; and failure mode analysis for the evaluation of medical devices. A position paper on engineering communication documentation is discussed
