Abstract
This paper describes the quality requirements for multimedia communication services and terminals. Quality assessments for media, i.e., speech, video, and data, have been studied separately. The combination of media generates new factors affecting quality because of the interactions among the media. This paper considers the factors peculiar to multimedia communication and those subjects related to quality. Of those factors, the effects of delay on quality are examined. From the results, the quality requirements of terminals concerning delay are presented
