Abstract
New formulae have been developed for computing the parameters of pipe-type power cables with arbitrary pipe thicknesses. The formulae are developed using cylindrical wave propagation equations in polar coordinate forms. Numerical results are presented showing the comparison with the results based on existing formulae. The study presented in this paper expands on the theory for the computation of pipe-type cable parameters. For the case of a very thin pipe, the accurate computation of the cable parameters is now possible with the new formulae
