Abstract :
In this paper, the Authors present a hybrid photovoltaic-diesel system control. The considered system is composed of a self exited induction generator (SEIG), a photovoltaic array (PV array) and a fuzzy supervisor associated to an isolated DC load. The diesel motor is used to drive the SEIG in order to feed an isolated DC load through a diode rectifier, LC-LC filter and a DC bus when the PV array power is insufficient. In this case the load is fed by both the SEIG and the photovoltaic panel. In the other case, when the PV array power is sufficient, the load receives the input power only from the photovoltaic array through a boost converter and a DC bus. A modeling study was performed for the proposed Hybrid system components. Modeling of the PV array, SEIG, Diesel engine, rectifier, LC-LC filter, DC bus and boost converter were established and used in the proposed control scheme. To control the power flow and to coordinate the system operation, a fuzzy supervisor is developed and used. In the other hand, a fuzzy voltage controller is associated to the boost converter in order to adapt the PV voltage and the load. An extensive simulation work was performed to extract the significant results. To show up the high system performances, presented results are discussed and prove how the proposed methodology is an efficient hybrid photovoltaic diesel control procedure.
