Abstract :
To reduce the staff effort associated with generation of BIRCTS (Bellcore Interface Requirements Conformance Test System) scripts, a prototype knowledge-based system to automate the script generation task was constructed. The system, BIRCTS Expert Script Composer (BESC) encodes command and parameter information, and vendor-specific information to assist in the creation of tailored test scripts. The implementation of BESC includes frame-based knowledge representation with multiple inheritance, and data-driven reasoning to create specific script classes.<>
