Based on the statistical date of each county and tested date of each water station in Aksu River Basin, this paper analysed the total variation trend, variation speed, regional disparities and hydrological response of cultivated land area in the basin since 1949. The results showed that: (1) The cultivated land area in Aksu River Basin shows increasing fluctuately, annual increasing rate is 2.90%, but average occupation of cultivated land area through a course of increasing to decreasing, annual decreasing rate is 0.46%. The spatial disparities of the cultivated land changes is significant. The change in Awati county where located at the northern edge of Takelamagan desert is large, and that in Wushi county where located at the southern Tianshan is small. (2) Hydrological response by land use change is significant. Along with the expansion of the cultivated land area in the basin, consuming water is increasing as well. The increasing rate of the cultivated land is 34.82% during the last 50 years, while the increasing rate of the consuming water is 36.02%.
