  • Abstract
    FSVDS, a visual demonstration system of flight simulation is designed and implemented based on OSG. FSVDS is highly configurable using a set of configuration files. FSVDS supports multiple display modes such as real time visualization of numerical simulation or simulation with semi-real objects, and playback content of path file and viewpoint file which can be recoded and edited by user. To support controls on progress of flight visual simulation such as play, pause, rollback and faster or slower simulation speed, FSM theory is employed to model the process of visual simulation. Based on OSG: Producer library, FSVDS implement a multi-viewport user interface with the ability of view ports shifting and active view port determination. FSVDS also provide physically based sky dome model and cloud system, as well as trail, trail fire and smoke based on OSG particle system. These make it very suitable for realistic flight simulation.
