  • Abstract
Implementing collaborative learning into a course involves careful planning and preparation of students. This paper focuses on the designing of collaborative learning of students taking animal diversity course. Two groups of student were given treatment comprised of lectures and a project. Both groups were given a project; the only difference was methods of collaboration. One group of students was randomly assigned to the traditional collaboration-learning group that met and discussed the project face-to face. Other students were assigned to the online collaboration-learning group that used the collaboration tool to discuss and complete the project given. At the end of the semester both groups were given a posttest. Results showed that there is a significant difference between the groups in their posttest scores. It was found that the online collaboration-learning group score higher than the traditional collaboration-learning group.
