Abstract :
To supply a new approach for the rapid and flexible development of instruments, this paper first presents the concept of virtual-environment-based instrument development technology, which is realized by introducing virtual reality (VR) and computer simulation into the field of instrument development, then sets up the theoretical model and simulation model of virtual-environment-based instrument development technology, and integrated model of virtual-environment-based instrument development system. Furthermore, the application of case-based reasoning (CBR) in virtual-environment-based instrument development technology is discussed, thus supplying it with more flexibility and intelligence. Finally, a prototype application of virtual-environment-based instrument development technology is given to show the effect of the instrument development technology presented, which shows how a simple but helpful virtual instrument system can be implemented on a personal computer without much cost. The conclusion is that virtual-environment-based instrument development technology can become a practical and useful tool in instrument development with the appearance of more economical and user-affordable high-performance computers and VR peripherals.
