Abstract
The Space Communications System Simulator (SCSS) is a tool which has played an essential role in the development of complex communication systems for NASA´s space programs including the Space Station Freedom and the Space Shuttle. The paper describes the capabilities of the SCSS and one particular example of how the SCSS was applied to characterize the performance of the Space Station´s primary communications subsystem in a hostile interference environment
