Abstract :
In this paper, genetic based generalized dimension exchange (GDE) method is proposed with the intention to uniformly distribute the unprecedented Web cluster workload. Due to the vagueness of workload during the redistribution period, fuzzy approach is implemented to model the Web cluster distributed system during workload exchange. According to experts´ subjective evaluation, fuzzy system is established to aggregate the fuzzy linguistic term of Web performance metrics into a so-called load-weight index that indicates the servers´ workload intensity. Based on the load-weight, a genetic algorithm with robust searching capabilities will equally redistribute the workload among the servers with the assistance of the fuzzy system.
