Abstract
Presents a modular signaling architecture and protocols to control calls, connections and services in broadband networks. The architecture is based on servers placed in the network that provide various network- and service-specific functions. The services, and hence the servers, are implemented and operate independently of one another. All service coordination is managed by call servers. This allows services to be introduced in a modular fashion. The separation of network transport control from services control is emphasized
