  • Abstract
    Levels of detail (LOD) is the key feature of 3D city model. However, how to manage LOD model is a very difficult problem. This paper put forward a new method for managing 3D data, which can efficiently realize the query function for LOD model and spatial objects. A database scheme is also designed to store R-tree and LOD. Furthermore, R-tree is extended into 3D space. This method will be of great benefit to the practice of 3D GIS.
