Abstract :
This paper discusses the interfering signal detection technique for DAA (Detection And Avoidance) operation of an UWB (Ultra Wideband) systems. To detect the interfering signal, sub-band pulses of a multi-carrier type are prepared as template waveform in the detector. The received signal is correlated with the sub-band pulses and the correlation values are compared with the threshold value. The proposed detection technique is applied for the correlation detection that is often used for the demodulation scheme of the pulse-based UWB system. The DER (Detection Error Rate) and FAR (False Alarm Rate) performance are evaluated to show the effectiveness of the proposed interfering signal detection technique and the performances are compared with the ordinary scheme by using FFT. The optimum sub-band pulse width is also derived to be obtained better detection performance.
