This paper considers the curriculum and existing problems with the Engineering Management major by studying the undergraduate course in this specialty offered at the Capital University of Economics and Business (CUEB). It summarizes the current conditions of the Engineering Management specialty both at home and abroad, and then provides an in-depth analysis of the current problems in the specialty. In light of the fact that financial and economic universities often lack engineering programs, this text has explored how to optimize the teaching of this specialty in these kinds of universities. After surveys and comprehensive argumentations, this paper has studied the subject positioning plan of the undergraduate courses for the Engineering Management specialty at CUEB, proposing to take the M&E engineering as the engineering background and the prophase project management as the subject positioning and also producing detailed executive plans. This subject positioning plan is capable of demonstrating the teaching features of financial and economic universities and in favor of resource sharing.
